Characters: Graystripe

Welcome to 'Characters: Graystripe'!

Character no. 2: Graystripe

Am I the only one that thinks Graystripe is awesome? I think he doesn't get enough recognition for everything he's done or went through. He's just known as 'the best friend of Firestar', but for example, when I ask anyone who their favorite cat is, the answer is never Graystripe. Almost every other kind of main cat is the favorite character from someone. I know, I haven't asked everybody, but I asked a lot of people and I never received Graystripe as an answer. It wouldn't be my answer either, but I think Graystripe should be more than just the friend of Firestar.

Let's just take a look at Graystripe. His mother is Willowpelt and his father is Patchpelt. They never talk or anything in the books, so that means they were never close. Then he was under all that pressure with Tigerstar - or Tigerclaw as he was called back then - and then he met Silverstream. They fell in love and he probably struggled because of the weight of the pressure and then Firestar found out and they started fighting. That couldn't have been that pleasant, could it? And then, Silverstream died giving birth to his kits. Even though they survived, his love died and he was distraught. After that he decided to leave his Clan - the Clan he lived in all his life - and join RiverClan because of his kits. RiverClan didn't trust him, he would've had a very hard time there. And then again he changed Clans, Leopardstar banished him because he couldn't abandon his best friend. He lost his daughter, Feathertail, because she saved the tribe and the cat she loved from Sharptooth, the mountain lion that hunted down the tribe cats. He wasn't there when she died and he wasn't able to say good-bye and his son decided to stay in the tribe.

Moons later he got kidnapped by twolegs and was all alone and he found Millie. They fell in love, but they had a very hard time finding Graystripe's Clan. When they found it, it seemed all was good, but then his daughter, Briarlight, was crippled by a falling tree. His life wasn't pleasant, but he still remained cheerful and happy at all times. That is why I really like Graystripe and I want that other people respect him as much as I do.

Hope you enjoyed,
~Megan
